Locum Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Acute Medicine (12 months)
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified clinician, who shares our Trust’s values, to join an enthusiastic team to develop the provision of Diabetes and Endocrinology services at the CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ Kingston Hospital.
We are in the top 20% of all acute Trusts in the country for 16 key areas and the 3rd best score in London for overall staff engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for you join this excellent workforce as part of a progressive and innovative Diabetes and Endocrinology and Acute Medical team.
You will join an existing team of five consultant diabetologists/ Endocrinologists and a well-established and independent team of diabetes Specialist Nurses, Dietitians, psychologist, podiatrist and administrators in our dedicated Diabetes Day Unit. Our diabetes team are very forward thinking and we have a high uptake of technology such as insulin pumps and flash technology. We run regular MDT clinics for our type 1 population and young people together with an established DAFNE programme.
Our 50 bed Acute Assessment Unit is managed by a team of Acute Care Physicians seeing all acute admissions to Medicine. We have an unselected take seeing pathologies across all medical specialties and have the support of an acute frailty service.
The successful candidate will provide Diabetes and Endocrine outpatient service and also work with an excellent team of acute physicians on the AAU and general medical on call.
Applicants must be fully registered on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register and Specialist Registrars may apply if within 6 months of CCT.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
