We seek to appoint 2 x new administrators / receptionists for Kingston Private Health, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s Private Patient Unit. Both posts are available for an immediate start.
The management arrangements for private patient services at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust changed on the 31st March, 2019 with the Trust taking over the management of the private patient unit (PPU). As part of this, the arrangements for the administration of the Private Patient reception are changing.
Kingston Private Health is the Private Patient Unit within Kingston Hospital with 22 en-suite rooms and 5 consulting rooms. The PPU treats a wide range of medical and surgical inpatients and day-cases as well as handling a large volume of private outpatient appointments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop their administrative skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of the processes involved in treating private patients within a NHS setting. The successful candidate will work on the reception desk, and will be responsible for handling a variety of queries, answering the phone, welcoming patients/visitors and working closely with the consultants and their private secretaries to ensure the smooth running of outpatient clinics and the booking of patient appointments.
Additional responsibilities will include liaising with the nursing staff and a variety of stakeholders, including insurance companies, GPs and other private/NHS providers; updating patient records on Trust electronic patient administration systems (CRS) and the private patient finance system; and responding to a wide-range of general queries relating to private patients on the PPU.
It is essential that the successful candidate has a high standard of English, written and verbal, is reliable and self-motivated. Evidence of recent previous administrative experience would be beneficial.
The positions offered are on a full-time, shift-working basis to provide cover from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
