Are you an RSCN/RNCB with a minimum of 2 years acute experience including 1 years experience in A&E? Can you prioritise, multi task and keep calm under pressure? Are you looking for a job which is never the same two days running?

This is a great time to join our team and make a difference.

We are looking for a full time Band 6 nurse to join our team in the Children’s Emergency Department at Kingston Hospital.

We are a busy ED department seeing approx. 104,000 patients per year between Adult and Paediatric ED. The Children’s Emergency Department is based within the main Accident & Emergency department and sees over 27,000 children per year. We have a newly built Urgent Treatment Centre and a newly built Paediatric Resuscitation Bay.

We focus on providing a welcoming and child friendly environment. You should have excellent communication and organizational skills, enthusiasm and passion to care for children and their carers. Applicants should demonstrate a child centered approach to their work.

The Emergency Team at Kingston Hospital provides a supportive and caring environment to their staff. We take pride in our team and we are pleased to offer a flexible working environment.

We are also committed to individual staff development. We have a robust development structure and onsite Education Centre. We are affiliated to a number of Universities within the areas of Surrey and London for ongoing studies, and are involved in the Capital Nurse project for training. We are about to open a simulation room within the unit which will allow for excellent training opportunities.

The Hospital is based in Kingston upon Thames, a bustling riverside town on the borders of London and Surrey. Kingston offers a wide variety of bars, cafés, restaurants and clubs and shopping to rival central London. Richmond Park is just a 5 minute walk from the Hospital and the Hospital is well served by public transport, with Norbiton Station on the doorstep. This allows you to jump on a train and arrive in central London, 12 miles away, in less than 30 minutes.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
