Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in Ambulatory Paediatrics

Full Time; applications from job sharers are welcome

We are looking for a dynamic Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in ambulatory paediatrics. Any other areas of subspecialty interest that complement the current Consultant team would be welcomed.

This post is integral to the running of our Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) model of working at Kingston Hospital, working alongside 4 other Ambulatory Consultants within the PAU.

You will be central to the running of the paediatric assessment unit in a busy district general hospital, providing high quality acute care and enhancing patient experience through faster access to senior clinicians. The paediatric assessment unit provides observation of patients and ambulation of management, reducing need for admission to the inpatient unit. You will be part of a team committed to providing care in line with the London Quality Standards.

Along with all other Consultants in the department, you will participate in the attending system of care as ‘Consultant of the week’ for the paediatric inpatient ward. You will provide general paediatric outpatient clinics during your clinic weeks. Shifts covering the PAU will make up the out-of-hours commitment. There is no overnight resident on-call.

Please see job description for greater detail.

This position is for 10 PAs per week and is permanent. We welcome applications from those wishing to job share. You will need to be in possession of a CCT in Paediatrics (or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving CCT from the date of interview.

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
